Quicktime player application. Should I deinstall it?

I have seen articles about removing Quicktime player from my Mac, but I don't know how to do it. 1. Does Apple recommend removing the application. If yes, how is it accomplished. I have moved Quicktime player to trash, but I get the following message:


“QuickTime Player” can’t be modified or deleted because it’s required by OS X.

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

It's only the Windows version of QT that has been deprecated. Nothing wrong with QT for Mac.
