Q: cannot empty Trash
I can't empty my Trash folder. Keep getting messages that the items in the Trash are "in use." But they are not. I have closed all the items and even quit the applications. I tried the hold the Option key while emptying Trash trick, and that did not work. There is no Secure Empty Trash in my Finder menu. This has happened before. I know that someone will probably suggest re-starting (which I have not yet tried), but do I really have to restart the Mac every time I want to empty the Trash?
Running El Capitan (OS X 10.11.40 on an iMac.
iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013), OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)
