Buying a US mac for the UK (will i have to pay sales tax)
I wonder if as and non resident of florida and coming from the Uk with a UK pasport I would be able to get away without paying the sales tax, as international travelers get when they come to the UK. If anyone know an answer to this please let me know and how to came it free, as this would save me a lot of money.

In theory you should declare the Goods on entry to the UK and pay the appropriate VAT/taxes, in practice how are they to know you didn't take it out with you ...
(Saved heaps buying this in the USA not Australia)
Ahh, I misread your post, you're going from UK to USA and want to avoid Tax there; its possible but you can only collect the Goods on departure not use when there ...
If you buy it then return to the UK complete with packaging then yes you will have to pay sales tax and rightly so.
Check the HM Revenue & Customs website to see what is exempt from sales tax.
Asking us how you can break the law is not a very wise way to proceed, as if anybody would be dumb enough to tell you . . .although if you . . .no, no, no I can't schay. . . I'ng holding gny tongue, scho I can't schay anything.
You'll need to pay tax at the till. You can however in theory petition the US government for a refund of the tax, but it's not as convenient as it is in say Canada where they hand the forms out just about everywhere. You won't be double taxed however. When you bring it back to the UK they won't tax you. I brought mine over from the US when I moved a couple of months ago and they didn't ask any question or even check my bags at all.
Either way, you're paying less in the States even with sale tax than in the UK.
Sales tax is assessed by the state and local governments, the US government has nothing to with it. Depending on the state, they may or may not offer you a refund on the sales tax. In some states you can get a voucher from the retailer and then get tax refunded at the airport when you are about to leave. You should search Florida's Tourism website and see if they offer such a program.
Customs are very clever. I naively brought some foreign bought stuff back from Australia and assumed that having paid tax there, I was OK. Wrong. Very big fine lots of tax and VAT. BUT if I do it again, I'm in court. They are smart.
You are probably talking US tax, I found it diffficult toget any tax back and it wouldn't have been that much.
