The camera won't mount... Cannot find anything on the web... I can't be the only one!

Per your camera's User Guide > Viewing on computers > Recommended computer environment,
your OS X (10.5) system is earlier than the 10.6-10.8 recommended for compatibility with your camera.
If you don't have access to a later Mac to test your connections and camera,
consider updating your Mac's OS X to 10.6 Snow Leopard or later.
