Double black arrows as mouse cursor

I Changed the batteries on my wireless mouse and now my cursor has changed to a black arrow with two ends. I can move it arrow the screen but it doesn't do anything when I click on it. Not being able to click makes it Harder for me, because I don't know very many shortcuts to access the control panel etc.

any help would be appreciated

thanks

Hey Saenz1948,
I understand that you are experiencing an issue with the cursor is showing something different from what you are used to. I can try to help you out.
Now you say it is not clicking anything when using it. I would recommend that you look into restarting your Mac. I know you don't know many of the shortcuts for your Mac, but all you would need to press is CommandControlPower button. Pressing these keys together will close the apps and restart your Mac. Once you have restarted your Mac, you should see that the cursor is back to normal.
Take a look at the articles below. The first will go over the different cursors you might see and the other will go over shortcuts that you can use for you Mac.
