how much does it usually cost if i want to repair my ipod as it is out of warranty? i think it is the software problem.

I bought my iPod classic in late 2009.

After I charged it, it cannot switch on. So i tried to reset it, but it did not help. And the apple logo shown, and then a big cross appeared with the apple support website for iPod.

i tried to search for different methods from youtube, but it did not help as well, since my itune could not detect my ipod when it is connect.

i would like to know how much does it usually cost to fix the ipod if it is the software problem? (my ipod is out of warranty)

Take a look at iPod Displays a Red "X" Icon - Apple Support and also Re: Corrupt iPod classic. The hard drive has probably failed.

was thinking should i pay for repairing of my ipod or not, since apple does not sell the ipod with click-wheel anymore.

If you think the cost of a repair is too high then it might be worth something to somebody who is in the market to rebuild classics to a working state. Alternatively see this recent post by Kenichi Watanabe: Re: My iPod Classic 160Gb won't register in iTunes which gives a link to a potential DIY drive replacement.

do you know how long does it take after i placed my ipod to disk mode?

it shows "do not disconnect" for half hour already, but itune still not yet pop up..

Start iTunes manually. It will either detect the device, or it won't.

Were you able to review the diagnostics screens? If so what are the HDD stats?

i tried to put my ipod to diagnostics mode, after i pressed reset, it goes back to "do not disconnect" again

It is possibly a matter of timing. Unplug the iPod before trying to get to the diagnostics screens.

Even if i only give my ipod to the apple staff using the genius bar, and let them check whats going on with my ipod (not repairing). will they charge me for that?
