Q: cannot sign out of Icloud on one of my devices

I have 4 devices all signed in with Icloud  4 are using my wife's credentials.  I want to sign her out on one of them as it is primarily my device and I would like to link my icloud credentials.  No luck.  I have been through every possible combination of steps to deauthorize including getting codes from other devices. 

Each time I am left with the message that icloud is waiting for approval from another device, but that is simply  not true.

each time i am told that I have entered my security code too many times and that I can verify through apple, clicking this link takes you to an apple information page, not helpful. within the sequence of steps, I am also given the option to retrieve a code from another device, which I do, and the loop regenerates, nada.

Any tips are appreciated...
