I would like to retrieve my contacts from my old phone

I have merged by contacts (probably by mistake, thinking about it now) into my new phone and would like to retrieve my old contacts from a previous phone.

Do you still have the previous phone? Do you have a backup of the contacts of the previous phone? Unless one of those is a "yes", it's likely not possible.
