I received an email from Apple(?)stating that due to lack of use they were shutting done my Itunes account. Is this a scam?

I recently received and email from I tunes (Apple?) stating that due to inactivity in my I tunes account they were going to shut my account down? Is this an I tunes /apple truth or fiction?(scam?)

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.7)
