Is Apple wireless keyboard (space key) repairable ?

My 5 yr old wireless (Bluetooth) keyboard apparently has a faulty space bar key. The problem is not with the springy key mechanism but with the actual key connection hidden in the keyboard body. I heard that this is NOT repairable. Is it true ?

The keyboard had other less critic problems as well. It liked, from time to time, not to get paired with my iMac so I had to switch to a reserve USB keyboard. However, when the offender was left close by it paired and reconnected itself by itself.

Should I dump it and buy the new Magic Keyboard ? - I do not like the USB wire connection.

iMac (27-inch Mid 2010), OS X Yosemite (10.10.2), Final Cut Pro
