quicktime for windows question

I have a mini ipad and my main computer is a windows 10. I have heard that Quicktime is no longer updating for windows 10.

I have been told that quicktime now allows for issues, etc and that I should get rid of it.

So, I am asking point blank-what is going on with Windows 10 and Quicktime.

Carol

I would appreciate some info on this.

Apple is no longer supporting QuickTime for Windows as discussed here. It is not required to support relevant media formats under Windows 8 or later, so if you have Windows 10 you can and should uninstall any version of QT on your PC. The documented security risk is associated with QT's browser plugin, which is deprecated in the current release of QT (7.7.9) which still be required for users of Windows Vista or 7. iTunes itself has not had any dependency on QT for several releases, and should run without issues and provide full functionality in the absence of QT.
