Is it possible to create a coustom tone (iPhone, iPod, iPod etc.)

Is it possible to create a custom tone for my Apple device? I don't want to install anything or convert one of my songs in my iTunes library. I was thinking there might be a way to use a program like garage band to create a custom tone. If you know the answer to this question please reply, Thanks!

iPod touch (5th generation), iOS 9.3.1

Do you have GarageBAnd on your Mac installed?

In GarageBand 10.1.1 you can create ringtones.

  • Launch GarageBand, and select to create a new project.
  • Select the Ringtone project templae.
  • Now record a sound or drag loops from the loop browser to the timeline.
  • Then use the share menu to share a Ringtone to iTunes.
