How do i unlock my ipad?

My iPad did some kind of updating last night and then when it was finished it locked me out when I tried my pass number. Which I know I got correct. I can't get in now it's saying connect to iTunes and I tried that but now only seem to have registered it as lost. Pls help
What exactly have you done ? You've connected the iPad, by its cable, to your computer's iTunes ? That should recognise the iPad (if the computer's iTunes and OS versions are sufficiently high) and let you reset it back to factory defaults so that you can restore/resync your content to it
