My iPod Touch 5G gets hot when using any app.

HI. My iPod get's very warm-hot whenever I use ANYTHING. Even if it's the only app running. Sometimes it gets uncomfortably hot to hold it. I have left it off for awhile to cool it off, but just heats back up again. (note: the top of the iPod heats up at the top mostly. that's where the battery is.) I have owned my iPod for less than a year, but I did purchase it used off of eBay.(it was 'Seller Refurbished') are there any ways to fix my problem, or is my battery just worn out? I do not have a warranty and do not have the money to repair it. Thanks in advance!

iPod touch, iOS 9.3.1, null

Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem. The appointment/diagnostics are free

You can try:

Try:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore from backup. See:

Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup - Apple Support

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204184

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
