Why can't I save new contacts on my iPad?

Why can't I save new contacts on my iPad?

When I type in a new contact on my iPad it doesn't end up in the Contacts app. How come?

After you complete entering the info, you have to top on the DONE button, or the new card won't be saved.

Thanks. I always do that.

I figured it out. Apparently I had Google Contacts selected in my settings for Mail, Contacts, Calendar. I deselected it and now everything seems to work properly. I'm not sure I understand it, but it does seem to be working the way I want.
