iMovie not sharing file

-I am running OS 10.11.4 on my 2013 iMac (2.7 GHz Core i5, 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3) and am using iMovie 10.1.2.

-When I go to share my movie file to the desktop it fails and gives me a link to find out more which takes

me to an Apple website about QuickTime Player (I have version 10.4) and I don't understand if I need to upgrade, or

downgrade my version of QuickTime Player so it works.

-So my question is how do I get the movie file to successfully share to the desktop?
