Problems getting security verification to appear on websites for log in

I am trying to log in to a website (Interactive broker) and I can get the login page and password however to progress to the next stage of login a security code has to be added but this does not appear.

I have been able to access this on other apple devices on the same network and other networks so it looks as though this is being blocked via settings on my macbook air.

I had a similar situation with remote access to a network.

I would be grateful for any advice to resolve this.
