Payment info can not be completed due to some unnamed issue

After inputing all payment information and pressing continue, a red dialogue box appears saying 'For assistance, contact iTunes Support at' followed by the support website. However, there is no red asterix specifying what problem if any are present in the information I have input. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?
