Bought recently Iphone 6S, 64 MB, 9.3.1. Also a cover with magnetic closure of front. Compass was teted for the first time about 1 month after purchase and did not work. Could the failure be due to the magnetic cover lock device?

Yes may be the Magnetic Cover interference is affected.
Better to Test the Compass by Removing the Cover
I have removed the magnetic cover, but the compass still does not work.
Then Try Resetting & then Contact Apple Store
Have tried resetting, without solving the problem. Have also contacted Åpple support without receiving any solution to the problem.
