Why not a big jack hole into the iMac so I can have the best music sound at home with iTunes Music ? I wanna rock and let my neighbours sleep.

One reason might be a 1/4" headphone jack is longer than an iMac is thick so it would stick out of the front quite a bit. You may want to consider a 1/4" to 3.5mm adapter. But if you would like to pose the question to Apple…
