I would like to run one program (Card Collector) on my iMac. I might be too cheap, but will VPC 6.0 run on my iMac? It meets the minimum requirements listed for VPC 6, but I wanted to learn more from experts rather than someone trying to sell me an 'outdated' product. I don't want to invest in VPC 7 at this time. Any suggestions would be helpful.....
To date you'll only be able to buy Windows XP unless you purchase one of the others from someone reselling his boxed copy. Make sure you get the disk as well as the license agreement that comes with it.
If you already have all three then you can use one copy of Virtual PC to run all three on different virtual machines.
Windows 98 will be faster than 2000 and 2000 will be faster than XP, however keep in mind that only XP is now being actively patched by Microsoft. You're less prone to viruses and malware when using later versions of software.

Yes, but he's running it in Virtual PC. Set up your PCs to ask before saving changes to disk. That way if your virtual machine gets a virus, you can just shut it down and restart it, and the virus will be gone. It's always much safer to run Windows inside of some kind of virtualization/emulation than natively.
If I need to run a windows environment just to run explorer, is virtual pc better than using parallels??? I would rather not install windows, but it looks like I may not have a choice. Which do you think would be the better option. (i.e. to avoid viruses and so on)
