Q: Install Bootcamp Without Access to the Apple OS?

I have acquired a MacBook Pro which is running Windows 10 really well (almost) in a clean installation.

However, the previous owner has deleted the entire Apple operating system and partition and I am unable to get into the Bootcamp control panel (I want to activate the right-click on the trackpad) because there isn't one.

How can I install Bootcamp from the Windows side only without access to the Apple side?

I have tried the online auto-re-installer for the Apple OS, but it also failed.  I'm not worried about the Apple OS, just want the Bootcamp control panel in Windows to access some of the hardware functions.

Thanks.

    You have two options.

    1. Install OSX on an external disk - How to install OS X on an external drive connected to your Mac - Apple Support - and boot from this disk and download BC6 drivers package. You may have to upgrade OSX on this external disk to the latest version supported by your Mac, before you can download BC6 drivers.

    2. Use Apple Software Update on the Windows side.

    3. The non-Apple option is to use a tool called Brigadier - https://github.com/timsutton/brigadier . Please see the Brigadier website for details.

    Thanks for the reply.

    1. This idea makes sense, but it seems like a cumbersome approach.

    2. Apple software update states that everything is up to date and despite running it several times, it finds no updates for Bootcamp.

    3. The page you have linked to looks good, but very complicated.

I have downloaded different versions of the Bootcamp installer from Apple, and they all either crash at the audio installer stage, or state that there is already a newer version of Bootcamp installed on the machine.  With this in mind and the fact that it ism't in the task bar, where can i find the .exe and launch it?

What is the version of Windows and BC drivers on the Mac?

Method 1 is the most reliable. As you have already noticed, downloading different versions is not getting what you want. It will save you a lot of time and energy.

There is no 'single' .exe. It is driven by the year/model of your Mac.
