can I download 10.11 to my desk top?

I currently have OS 10.8.5 on my I-Mac. I would like to download 10.11 to a disk so that I can install it later to my I-Mac. I have two I-MAc's so this would save having to download another copy of 10.11..

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8), I-Pad 4

Yes, you can. If your Mac is compatible with 10.8.5 then it is compatible with 10.11, so it will let you download it.

After downloading the installer but before using it, copy it to an external drive.
