Q: Compressor 4.2.2 Freeze then Crashing

Hi Everyone,

I've been dealing with an ongoing issue when i'm attempting to compress 100+gb ProRes files recorded to my Black Magic SSD HyperDrive. I'm recording 1080i and when i start batch to .h264 @ 8mb/sec (even with just one file to compress, my computer freezes for 10 seconds, crashes to black, and reboots 30 sec later.

Upon reboot there are no logs found in my "system information/software/logs" prior to the crash. We've had our IT guy debug and run any scripts he has, but this keeps happening.

The only recent change is upgrading to Captain.

Any thoughts/input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Zane

    Verify you're running Compressor 4.2.2.

Launch Compressor, go to Preferences, to Advanced.  Then click the Reset Queue button.  Run "Cancel Jobs", then do it again and run "Repair Compressor".

What format are the video files on your BMC drive?
