Ipod Nano 7th generation not connecting properly via Bluetooth

I recently bought a Rockbox Brick and decided to try my iPod's Bluetooth function, I've never used it so i thought i may as well try it out, but when i connect to the speaker it connects for about 10 seconds and then disconnects again, i know it's not the speaker's fault, nor is it my own since i can connect my phone to it perfectly, but i'm curious as to whether there's a fix for this, something i can do to the iPod or some obscure setting I've missed,

Thanks for your help

If you have not already, do a Reset (restart) on the iPod and try it again

Make sure you are following the correct pairing steps, described in the user guide

Learn how to reset your iPod - Apple Support (starting on page 53)

While testing with the iPod, turn OFF your phone previously used to pair with speakers, in case it is interfering somehow.
