Unable to unlock iPhone 5

Hello wonderful people. I'm having an issue with unlocking my iPhone 5. There's a couple of other issues that go along with it, so let me explain.

I Am able to use the slider to get to the screen to enter my 4 digit code.

WHen hen I try to enter my 4 digit code, the phone does not recognize anything I'm typing And it freezes.

AFter the the phone is frozen for about a minute, it will reboot itself and the whole cycle repeats itself.

one other issue, the top/sleep button is broken So I can't do a hard reboot myself.

DOes odd anybody have any ideas or am I hosed?
