Email locked

My email / apple ID is inexplicably "locked". We did absolutely nothing to change passwords and or apple ID. Service @ Apple said we will get an email and it will unlock in 24 hours. I need this email and apple ID for business, 24 hours shuts my business down down. They basically say "oh well...you just have to wait 24 hours."
