You can go in and configure the guest account on or off.  The guest account provides guests with limited access to your internet connection.

If this account is not password protected, anyone can get on and be hogging your bandwidth.

Load the airport utility app on your iPad and you can configure it off from there if you don't want it running.

The first question here would be whether or not you want to have a Guest Network option, since it can be disabled if you don't plan to use this feature. If you do want to use this feature, then it is as easy task to edit the name of the Guest Network to something really simple.......like Guests, for example.

The next question would be what device......a Mac, PC, or iPhone / iPad......do you normally use to administer or make any changes to the setup of the AirPort Extreme?

By default the AirPort's guest networking feature would be disabled. Someone would have to had used the AirPort Utility to enable it.

To disable it, just do the following:

    • Run the AirPort Utility.
    • Select the base station > Edit
    • Select the Wireless tab.
    • Uncheck the option: Enable Guest Network
    • Click on Update and allow the base station to restart.

Right now I am using my iPad Pro. I bought both an iPad Pro and an iMac when they said the platform could not be updated. Before these I was using a laptop.Mac Pro, which is now just sitting there.

I Am just learning how to use both the iPad and the iMac . Different from the laptop.

i Really appreciatr all of the information you gave me. One time I had to call for help with my airport and the guy asked if i would allow him to go into my computer so he could show me how to change fequency, I let him. Will never do that again!1 Everything is now fixed. Thank you so much.

i Have another question if you don't mind. I could not use either my mouse or keypad when I first tried to my iMac, so I went to Best Buy and they said everything worked fine and I had to go into preferences to join eveything. I tried to do this today and it won't let me do anything because it keeps asking me for me for my login keychain "password". I never put on in and i tried all of the passwords I use on my iPad. So now I can't get in at all. I have bought these items in Feb.' have been loving the iPad just wish I could use the iMac . I have Lupus and was in a flare. Could only use my iPad at times. Oh, I did turn the iMac on last night no issues had 6 updates I did but now lit wants a login keychain password. Nothing else but the back picture is on there. I have no idea what to do. Sorry for such a long message. Would appreciate any help you can give
