Purchases will always be tied to the account from which they were purchased and will always need to be updated using that account.

or simply create a new one?

Download the app again using your current Apple ID and then restore the data.
Keep in mind though that if you originally had to pay for the app you will have to purchase it again.

Did u tried to reset your password?
Or is ur Apple Id linked with another device?
If these steps deosnt work you should try to search for a account logged in with ur Apple ID.
