Q: how can i rescue/recover a formated iPod nano 2

hello there

i restored by mistake my iPod second generation......how can i recover the music on it and all the playlist??. is there a free program that could help me out?

iPhone 5s, iOS 9.0.2

    It's like erasing an external drive or USB flash drive.  If you want to recover data formally erased from a drive, you may be able to do that using a general data recovery app, IF new data has not been written over the old data.  This type of app is not specifically for iPods.  You are treating the iPod (with Disk Use enabled) as a USB storage device. Don't know if you use Mac or Windows PC, but here's one for Mac

    There are obviously other apps out there for this purpose.  Do an Internet search on something like "data recovery" with "windows" or "mac."  You may be able to recover individual song files (maybe not all of them), and probably not playlists.  If you can recover song files, add them to your iTunes library.

     

    Going forward, you should keep all of your songs in your iTunes library (on the computer).  And then back up that iTunes library, in case your computer (or its drive) fails.
