Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

A flag has appeared on my home screen saying about a backup required. It does not disappear so I cannot start the back up.

The flag that has appeared will not disappear when OK is hit. I therefore cannot start the backup, or as with Apple Support, obtain the Ipad serial number.

Please can someone advise how I can delete the flag and proceed?

Try a forced restart - After shutting down all open apps using the app switcher - invoked by quick double press of the home button and swiping up on each app till it flies off the screen.


Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons down together till you see  logo - then release and allow normal boot up



Also - the serial number is on the back of the device, on the original box it came in and if you sign in here - you can see all your devices with serial numbers
