episode number

I am trying to figure out if there is a way to edit the episode numbers of television shows that I have purchased via iTunes. I don't care for all the "inside the episode" featurettes that come along with every episode, but Apple insists on not only including them by default, but also considering them episodes for purposes of numbering. So now I'm stuck with the episodes of my shows appearing as odd numbers only, and it's extremely frustrating. I feel like I should be able to edit these in my library but can't figure out how.
