Use Iphone to control Ipad when connected to HDTV

I connect my ipad to a HDTV, all is good. I can watch the differnet app ( netflix, ABC, Starz etc.)

Since the Ipad is at the HDTV, I would like to use my Iphone 5s as a remote or mirror the ipad so I can change APP, pause, FF the show without going to the Ipad.

Is there a way to do this.
