Just created a movie in iMovie for the first time. On the first scene, there is "My Movie" written on the lower left corner of the picture. How do I remove this?
Using iMovie version 10.0.6, with Yosemite.

If you selected a Theme for your movie, it will automatically have a title to the first clip and other automatic content.
if you try to delete the added title in the film strip, you will see a prompt to disable the automatic content. Just click the button to disable it.
Are you seeing the titles as purple bars in the filmstrip?
Click the first title and press the "delete" key. It should produce the message I have shown. Now click "Turn off automatic content" and use the "delete" key again to delete the tile.
Or simple go to the "Windows" menu in the main menu bar and select "Show Theme Chooser". Switch to the them "No Theme". Then all automatic titles and transitions will vanish.
