If you are attempting to use Handoff/Continuity or AirDrop, that does involve Bluetooth but the devices are NOT paired; Bluetooth just needs to be on and the devices in range of each other. The following may help with Handoff/Continuity issues: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204678

May 7, 2016 3:59 PM in response to FoxFifthby RobWes,if i want to use airdrop the Imac doesn't see my Iphone 6, how to solve that. Bluetooth on both is on, they are on the same wifi network and within 10 inch of each other.
