what if we dont know who the previous device owner was?

I own an IPad 2 since 2 years ago i bought it from yellow pages and it was fine for 2 years and yesterday the IPad went blank and took me to the activation page and its asking me for the previous owners apple id but i dont know who the previous owner was, so how do i fix this?
