Force quit safari by doubletapping the home button. Flick the safari preview up and off the screen to close it. Single tap the home button to exit them mode

Then go into the settings and Safari and throw away your history

For good measure, force your iPad to reboot by holding down the sleep and home keys for 20 seconds or so. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot then see if it's gone.

If that redirect is still there then your browser may be compromised (especially if you see the same thing on other devices)

My mistake, I meant to say Router, not browser.

It is possible for malware to install itself on your router and affect your browsing, especially if you only see that centurylink thing at home and not elsewhere.

One way to test for this is to do the reset and then connect your iPad to a public hotspot, like mcdonalds or starbucks or the suck. See if hte browser redirect happens again. If it does then it's your device, if not, and you go home and experience the redirect again, then it could be your router.

In that case you'd need to google your router's make and model and see if the manufacturer has any fixes for you

Check your wireless router for possible breach. It could be as simple as DNS redirection (bad guys changed your router DNS settings) or as complicated as firmware breach (bad guys load their own custom firmware). If it's the first (DNS redirection), it's easy to fix.

Additional info

Wait... I searched centurylink webhelper and I got the following site: http://internethelp.centurylink.com/internethelp/centurylink-webhelper-dns-redir ect.html

Is that what you are experiencing? If Centurylink is your internet provider, it is not a bot. You don't have to use their DNS. Sign in to your wireless router and got to the DNS section. Manually enter Google or Open DNS IP addresses there.
