Can't switch to Apple Music Student Membership?

So I decided to switch to this new student membership plan Apple is offering since I'm a student. Every time I attempt to click this "Student (1 month) Verification Required" option in the iTunes app, I get redirected to the iTunes download page. When I tried it with my phone, it didn't do anything, it just closed off and remained an individual membership.

Then, I went to the UNiDAYS website through which you're supposed to verify your student ID on and clicked Redeem Online and that also redirected me to the http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ link. So frustrating. It's like it can't connect to the iTunes store even though I have iTunes installed?? Please help.

I can't even do it on my phone so tired doing it on my laptop and it don't work, every time I click verdify student it takes me to apple.com to download iTunes ? When I already have it downloaded. I don't know why it's not letting me. Apple support told me to call unidays ? But it's Apple fault not there's. They can't help because it's there software. Apple the worst

Hi, I feel like you just read the title of this question and not the rest. I kind of wish I could be helped here instead of contacting Apple elsewhere, that's all very long and tedious. Nice to know I'm not the only one who has this problem seeing as others have this question too. I obviously followed the instructions provided in the resource you suggested. It just keeps redirecticing me to the iTunes download link. I now managed to get somewhere through the UNiDAYS website but now whenever I tap the "Activate Promotion" button, it does nothing but open the Music app. It opens it and when I check, it shows that I'm still an individual membership user. Here's where I got to, I managed to prove I'm a university student but I can't activate the promotion.

Similar issue for me. I created a UNiDays account using my student email address with a .edu domain. It was validated. However, my Apple ID is under my personal email address. I haven't found anything that ties the two email addresses together. On iPhone in Apple Music, I tapped the US version of the renewal link in your first post. That took me back out to the account page. I don't know if it is actually trying to verify anything but if it is, it won't find my personal email listed with UniDays. If I tap again on View Apple ID > Manage > Your Membership > Student Members Verification Required, I get tossed back out to the Account screen.

I tried turning off Auto Renewal but that didn't help. Hope we find a solution. Sure would like to take advantage of this offer without creating an Apple ID using my school email address.

Fixed it. Not totally sure what did the trick but here's what I did.

1) Turned off Auto Renew

2) Logged out of Apple Music, then logged back in.

3) Closed Apple Music on iPhone by swiping to close on the fast switching bar (I think this might have done it)

4) Reopened Apple Music, went to Account > View Apple ID > Manage > Your Membership > Student Member Verification Required.

This time, I popped out to a UNiDays web page and then back to Apple Music. Note, I had previously set up a UNiDays account and it was probably still active in a Safari page. I did not need to re-enter my UNiDays info. Your experience might be a bit different.

Good luck.

I've just solved this problem on my Macbook Air.

In my case, I've tried several times on the iPhone with an instruction in this article but that didn't work.

So I tried to solve this problem on my laptop.

When you do it on your laptop, such problem will occur continuously.

After to click the button [Verification Required], your browser(safari or chrome, etc,.) will be launched.

Then the popup will ask you that you will run iTunes, just hold it.

Quit your iTunes before clicking the popup on the browser.

And then click the [yes] or [OK].

Finally, your iTunes will launch again and it will be finished.

Good luck.
