Receiving Strange 'Mimetype' Error

Attempting to publish an ebook via iTunes Producer.

I have finished download and setup, and am able to submit my book.

I have ran my ePub file through http://validator.idpf.org/application/validate and I receive a message that says "

Results

Detected version: EPUB 2.0.1

Results: Congratulations! No problems were found in emoji_file (1).epub.

Validated using EpubCheck version 4.0.1."

However, when I submit to iTunes, it's telling me the mimetype is wrong. I checked my mimetype via http://mime.ritey.com/ and it's telling me that the Mimetype in the file is exactly what is expected.

Can someone help me out in guiding a troubleshooting? Not sure on next steps in being able to get this book to submit properly.

Hello zswetz,

If you are having trouble getting your ePub published in the iTunes Store, take a look at the information in the resource below:

Authors & Book Publishers - Frequently Asked Questions

What is the EPUB format?

EPUB is a free electronic book standard that uses XHTML. Before you submit your book to the iBooks Store, you should validate the EPUB file to ensure that it complies with the EPUB formatting standards (EPUB schema). All books submitted to the iBooks Store must pass the latest version of ePubCheck, include only files listed in the manifest, and use UTF-8 or UTF-16 characters. For more information, see idpf.org/epub.

How do I create a book file in the EPUB format?

To create a book in EPUB format, you can use a variety of book creation tools. If you don’t know how to create books in EPUB format, it may be best to work with an aggregator or EPUB conversion house. Aggregators are experts in delivering content to the iBooks Store. For a fee they can correctly format and deliver your books to meet iBooks Store specifications.

Note that Chinese and Japanese language books, if created in EPUB, require the EPUB 3 format.

I can’t find the answer to my question. Where can I get additional help?
