In Maps trying to get direction between 2 dropped pins (favorites). Appears that this is impossible. Not sure why. I go to "End:" click favorites and select one. Then go to to "Start" and click try to add another favorite and Maps clears the "End" or vice versa. Very frustrating. Back to Mapquest.
I suggest trying this... Open Maps and right click on a position of interest and choose "Get Directions". A pin will drop there automatically, and maps will give you directions from your current location. Simply change the location of "Current Location" to the other desired point you wish to know distance or directions from and maps will give you both directions and the distance. Or did you have something else in mind that I'm not understanding?
If you drop a pin for your starting point, then ask for directions to the second point, maps will drop a pin for you there and you have a map with two pins. I think you might be trying to do something the software was not designed to do(?).
Thanks Pokey B. I was hoping I could easily see the route/distance between 2 favorites. So my follow up question is: what are the options for choosing/establishing "the second" point in your suggestion. Thanks again. I do appreciate this. I enjoy learning how these apps work.
Let me know how it works for you. I think what you were trying to do was to drop one pin, then drop another. In that case, yes, the first pin disappears as soon as you drop the 2nd.
Thanks but I thought that I tried that and it cleared the other field but I am away from my iMac so can't try it. I will when I log back on to my Mac.
