Photos for Mac

Q: Photos appear in album "All Photos"but no in "Moments"

Sometimes the photos I save either from safari or email do not appear in Photos, in the Moments page. However, they do appear under Album, in "All Photos". the photo is not hidden or anything. How can I move it to Moments?

iPhone 6s Plus, iOS 9.3.1

The photos in the "moments" view are automatically arranged by date.  If a photo was created some time ago, it should appear in the appropriate chronological spot.

 

You might try this - do a "Get Info" on a particular photo in the "All Photos" album (right click), note the date, and then check for it at that date in Moments.

    The photos in the "moments" view are automatically arranged by date.  If a photo was created some time ago, it should appear in the appropriate chronological spot.

    Generally this is not the case - generally you are simply looking in the wrong place

     

    All Photos is sorted by data added so the most recent additions are at the bottom

     

    Moments are sorted by the Photo date as recorded in the Photos EXIF/IPTC data - in All Photos right click and select show in moment to see where it is

     

    If show in moment opens a moment but the photos is there hen you have database corruption - to resolve that backup your Photos library and hold down he option and command keys while launching photos and repair the database - note this will trigger a total upload to iCloud Photo Library if you are using it to verify that the libraries are fully in sync

    thanks stumbleone, I found the photo. indeed it was a question of dates. Still I have many more photos in "All photos" than in "Moments".  I will try LarryHN method's to reupload everythng to icloud. thanks!

    Hidden Photos shoe in all Photos but not in Photos / Moments - that can be a reason for a difference in counts
