How do you sort a slideshow by title?

I hate Photos. It is hands down the most counter intuitive product Apple has ever puked up.

I am short on time and trying to start a simple slideshow from a folder where I named every picture so that it would progress in order.

There is no logical way to reconfigure the slideshow so it will read the photo names. NOTHING should be this difficult, especially on a MAC. How did this get so complicated? I have accomplished it before but every time I try to start again I run into this same problem. How can something be so counter–intuitive?

To be able to sort the photos by the filenames you have to copy the filenames to the titles. Photos does not treat the filenames as the default titles like iPhoto did; it will only use titles your signed manually.

You could use one of the scripts we posted to copy the filenames to the title field in Photos.

See this link: Script: Batch Changing the Titles to the Filename w/Extension

And then you can sort the photos in the album by title as shown by OT in the post above.

I will find a different program to sort photos with and make slideshows and remove photos altogether as my computer's memory problems seem to stem from this worthless program as well.

Stop using Photos, if you prefer other software, but uninstalling it is not recommended. It is an integral Part of OS X and protected by the system integrity protection. You will have to disable this protection to be able to remove Photos, and each system update will restore it.

Just ignore it, it does not need much storage, just roughly 60MB.

In the album sort the photos manually in the order you want them. Then select all of them in the album, Command+A, and use the File ➙ Create Slideshow menu option. This will put the photos in a new slideshow in the order they were in the album.

However, many of the themes will change the order because they have some slides that contain more than one photo. The Classic and Ken Burns themes are best for what you want to achieve.

Thank you for the help.

I did realize that was possible but with 151 photos, I didn't have the time to reorder them. If that is the only solution, then that is the most ludicrous thing I can imagine with a photo program. Being able to sort the order by filename should be one of the very most basic things available.

On top of it all, to even ask this question I had to reset my password to join Apple Communities because apparently I had it wrong. Although when I went to change it it told me I was using the same password as my previous one. :-/ Now all of my devices are freaking out trying to update and I'm traveling internationally so my phone keeps locking up on me trying to reenter the password while I'm on shotty WiFi in different places.
