I am using an LG Slim Portable DVD writer on my Apple Mac Book Pro. I keep getting the following message...The disc can’t be burned because communication between the computer and the disc drive failed (error code 0x80020022). However, I have been able to use the two devices before. Does anyone know what is wrong?

The error is caused by one of two things - your media cannot support the burn speed you have selected or your media and your DVD burner don’t “like” each other. The latter sounds odd but I learned a long time ago that some burners just cannot seem to burn (or reliably burn) some media though other burners will use the media just fine.

Ooops - left out a third possibility - media can go bad. The organic dyes degrade over time. A few years ago I had to throw away about 30 discs of a 100 disc spindle because I kept burning coasters no matter which computer I tried them on.
