In FCPX, the effects tab within the Inspector has seemingly disappeared. How can I get it back?

TThere is no effects tab. Effects appear in the video inspector or the audio inspector.
I meant that the tab inside of the Video Inspector has disappeared.

Move the pointer over the bar. Click Show or double click the bar.
If Show doesn't appear or double clicking doesn't work no effects are applied.
Double clicking doesn't work. How, then, can I add an effect to make the menu show up again?
SSelect the clip in the project and double click the effect you want or drag it onto the clip. Once the effect has been applied the effects control will become available.
