Q: iCloud backup problem

Okay, so here's the deal. I recently broke my phone so I had to get a fresh new phone. Just before they completely cleared and resetted my phone I somehow gained access to my iCloud and backed up everything on my iPhone. Now that I have a new phone I downloaded my back up, I still had some issues, but they were very minor. Now I'm a extremely big photo taker, now having a 128gb storage, I went crazy and my photos were taking up 80.7gb of my storage... Now that I'm going back and looking at my photos, a very large portion of my photos are just a white square... Not even the beginning of my photos and videos have loaded and I'm having to head over to iMovie to see my videos but yet most of them have a white cloud on the right corner of the film. I've tried to look at my iCloud information and not only have I had this back up downlolanded since yesterday, but the backup option is greyed out in my device.

    Hello dallastexas13,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities!

From your post I understand that you are restoring from an iCloud backup, but not all of your content has populated yet. After reading your description, it sounds like the restore is still in progress. Take a look at the information in the following article; this would explain why the iCloud Backup setting is dimmed.

Restoring my device from an iCloud backup is taking a long time

Restoring from a backup might take a while because of the size of the backup or the speed of the Wi-Fi network. For example, iCloud can take approximately 1 to 4 hours per gigabyte during a restore process.

There are several steps you can take:

    • In iOS 8 or later, check the progress of the transfer on your device under Settings > iCloud > Backup. If the restore process is underway, the iCloud Backup setting is dimmed.
    • Make sure that your device is connected to the Internet with reliable Wi-Fi.
    • Make sure that your device is plugged in to a power outlet.
    • Check the Apple progress bar that appears while transferring a backup.

Correct. Today I recieved a notification saying if I wanted to continue my backup process, but i had no internet access at the time, so I had to cancel the option. Since then I haven't been able to receive that notification or reach that option.

Also I've been on my device for 3 days now. The apple progress bar hasn't been showing at all, so I have no idea how much of my data has been restored....
