May 9, 2016 1:57 AM in response to Hampton1000by K Shaffer,There would be nothing old left of the iPod Classic if you restored it to factory settings;
so read into how that is to be done to see if there are additional links that apply from here:
If he has been using the iPod with his AppleID, there would be an affiliation to the content &
his AppleID, so these instructions may apply to ready the iPod so you can use it.
They also could apply to him, in preparing to give it back to you:
• What to do before selling or giving away your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
This should allow you to erase the content and allow the unit to be restored to original status.
The second link may have a higher priority than the first one, check both as they will apply.
Good luck in this matter!
