Q: I received an apple watch yesterday and have since set it up and paired it and all, but today I cannot unlock it nor look at anything on the watch because it just doesn't let me.  Any ideas as to what is wrong or what I am doing wrong?

    Hi

If you have not already done so, you might wish to configure your watch with these settings:

    - On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > General > Wrist Detection - turn this on.

    - On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > Passcode > Turn Passcode on (choose either a Simple Passcode or a more complex one).

    - Also on the Passcode settings screen, enable Unlock with iPhone.

After putting it on your wrist, your watch will then unlock after whatever you do first: either unlocking your watch manually (by entering the passcode) or unlocking your iPhone.

It will then remain unlocked (including when the screen is asleep) until you remove it from your wrist. When you remove your watch, it will lock automatically.

If your watch is completely unresponsive, try force restarting it:

    - Press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for around 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo, then release them and wait for the watch to restart.

    Hi Jonathan,

I've tried everything you've suggested but at this point Apple Support Chat had me unpair it and made an appointment at the Apple Store to get it looked at.  When I forced restarted it, it is frozen on the screen where you choose the language you want.  It won't go beyond that screen.  It doesn't recognize the touch when I try to select "english".
