I understand you're getting a message that you have a startup item that has improper security settings. To help get this issue resolved I suggest you follow through the steps in the link below.
Mac OS X v10.6 or later: "Insecure Startup Items folder" message appears after logging in

May 10, 2016 8:39 AM in response to maggie103by Allan Eckert,SymAutoProtect is part of Norton Antivirus. I suggest you uninstall Norton using the uninstall procedure from Symantec. It is a worthless scam on your Mac. It offers no additional protection. All it does is cause problems.
