Q: Running windows 8.1 on my iMac
I recently install windows 8.1 onto my iMac and I did this without the assistance of BootCamp Assistant. When installing windows I came to the partition page and deleted all of the partitions until I only had one 500GB partition that I wanted to use for windows. Currently I have windows 8.1 running on my iMac fine apart from I have no sound what-so-ever. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the High Definition Audio Device and that didn't help, I have also tried to install other audio drives which also didn't help. In the device manager I navigated to the Sound, video and game controllers section to find two High Definition Audio Device drivers, I have tried to uninstall and reinstall both and that also didn't help. I also tried to use my Astro A40's to see if it was the iMac's speakers but I also cannot hear any sound through my headset either. I really don't know what else to do, can anyone help?
Thank you,
- John

I couldn't find a fix for my sound issue in windows 8.1 and seen as though I only have one Apple machine I didn't have access to the BootCamp Assistant application so I just ended up backing up my files from Windows 8.1 and restarting my iMac and holding Option and R and re-formatting the hard drive to Mac OS X Journaled and re-installed MAC OS X. Thank you for your help though.
