Q: Simple Editing programs that support AVCHD videos
Hi everyone,
I'm requiring your help to find a cheap and reliable video editing program that will enable me to edit my church's services.
So far I have tried using imovie which has proven to be unsuccessful my file became corrupt and in the place of the church service, I have a video that I made four years ago. I own a five year old Macbook Pro which runs on OS X El Captain Version 10:11.4. It has a 2.4 GHz Intel Core i 5 processor. The files were filmed on Canon's VIXIA HF G30 Full HD Camcorder
So far, I have done the following:
- I tried to delete and reinstall imovie to no avail which makes this program not a solution for my video editing needs.
- I have installed Hitfilm Express with the recommended add-on which is supposed to support the AVCHD files but in my case it didn't. After spending $26 for the add-ons the program will not work and I'm having heck of a time to find a program that will enable me to convert these AVCHD files to MTS. I was told by the tech person to use a software that would convert the files into MTS however he was unable to suggest a program to use for a Mac. So far despite trying handbrake and isoft, I have yet to get these files converted.
- I have contacted Canon for suggestions for A) video editing programs B) programs to convert the AVCHD files. They were unable to help me with questions A and B
- I have reached out to other online communities and so far I have yet to find a breakthrough.
If you can please send me your recommendations ASAP that would be terrific. I'm a beginner in regards to creating movies therefore I'm needing programs that are easy to use.
MacBook Pro (13-inch Late 2011), OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)
